Dear Friends of the Pro-Life Movement in Pennsylvania,
My name is Ashley Garecht and I am the mother of two of the teenage girls who were filmed, harassed, and ultimately doxxed by Pennsylvania State Representative Brian Sims when we were praying in front of the Planned Parenthood clinic at 12th and Locust Streets in Center City, Philadelphia, on Holy Thursday this past April. I want to thank you for your kind words of support, for your prayers on our behalf, and most especially for your diligence in the fight to end abortion in Pennsylvania and throughout our country.
Many of you have already contacted your own State Representatives, asking them to hold Mr. Sims accountable in the Pennsylvania General Assembly. I want you to know that your efforts are bearing fruit! Last Thursday, Representative Jerry Knowles (R-Schuykill, Berks and Carbon Counties) introduced H.R. 387 A Resolution Censuring Representative Brian Sims. To date, 36 other Republican legislators have signed on as co-sponsors for the bill.
If passed, this bill will formally, and on the public record of the State House, declare a reprimand of Mr. Sims’ actions, and remove him from all standing committees. This would dramatically impact him as a legislator, particularly since the productivity of an elected representative is tied directly to his ability to work on and through committees to move legislation to the floor of the Assembly.
But I need your help.
Sadly, and disgracefully, the Republican Leadership in the Pennsylvania State House are withholding their explicit support for this Resolution. As a mother, as an American citizen, and as a pro-life activist, I see no discernible justification for their inaction, and I am so grateful for the courage of the individual members who have made an honorable and public stand in support of this resolution.
Will you join me in calling House Speaker Mike Turzai (R) and Majority Leader Bryan Cutler (R), asking them directly to support H.R. 387 and bring it to the floor of the State House for a vote? I believe this resolution represents a critical moment for the pro-life movement within Pennsylvania. It is essential that our First Amendment rights as American citizens who are fighting for the lives of the unborn are protected, respected, and honored by all our elected officials.
With great appreciation in advance for your assistance and support,
P.S.—I was grateful for the opportunity to speak with Dom Giordano on his radio program this week about H.R. 387 and the challenges surrounding its passage. You can listen here to that conversation if you find it helpful. Thank you!

Suggestion of What to Say:
Hello Representative, my name is __________ and I live in _____________ county, here in Pennsylvania. I was so glad to see that Representative Knowles has introduced H.R. 387 A Resolution for Censure of Brian Sims, and as of now the bill has 32 co-sponsors. I believe that it is critical that Mr. Sims be held accountable within his own Legislative body for his reprehensible behavior. His harassment and bullying of female American citizens who were exercising their Constitutionally protected rights as they stood for the lives of the unborn, as well as his dangerous doxxing of three minors, displays conduct exceedingly unbecoming of an elected official. He shames himself and disgraces our state.
I am asking you to please support this resolution by co-sponsoring the bill, and that you fulfill your responsibilities as a member of the Leadership by bringing this legislation to the floor of the Assembly for a vote.
You have told the people of Pennsylvania that you are a true pro-life, conservative leader. Please do your duty now and take a stand for the First Amendment and for life.
